Terms of Service

Last updated: October 20, 2026

1. Introduction

butGEO (www.butgeo.com, the “Service”) is operated by Shenzhen Yanyu Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us” or “butGEO”). These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) constitute an agreement between you (“you” or the “User”) and us regarding your use of the Service.

To use the Service, you should read and understand these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Subscription and Payment Terms. Before using the Service, please carefully read and fully understand all provisions of these Terms, particularly those that exclude or limit our liability, restrict your rights, and involve paid services. Provisions that limit or exclude liability or involve your significant rights and interests will be highlighted in bold or otherwise conspicuously for your attention.

By logging in via WeChat QR code, clicking “Agree”, or otherwise actually using the Service, you are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to all the provisions of these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Subscription and Payment Terms. If you do not agree with any part, please stop registering for and using the Service.

If you are under the age of 18, please read and determine whether to agree to these Terms under the supervision and guidance of a guardian, use the Service under the guardian’s guidance, and pay special attention to the provisions regarding minors.

2. Definitions

“butGEO” means the online platform operated by Shenzhen Yanyu Technology Co., Ltd. that tracks, analyses and improves the visibility of brands inside artificial intelligence answers, available at www.butgeo.com.

“User” means a natural person who registers, logs into, or uses the Service, also referred to as “you”.

“Subscription” means the paid account status under which you receive defined features and allowances for an agreed period after paying the applicable fee.

“Allowance” means the unit used to measure your scale of use, including the number of tracked prompts, engine coverage, scored pages, API calls and similar metrics as set out on your plan page and order. Allowances have no cash value.

“AI engines” means the third-party generative AI products and services that the Service tracks (including without limitation ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Doubao, Qwen, Kimi, Hunyuan, MiniMax and GLM) and their operators.

“Tracking data” means the AI answers, cited sources, brand mention positions and the visibility and share-of-voice metrics derived from them that the Service retrieves and records for the prompts you configure.

“Content” means data and materials you upload, input, generate, edit or export through the Service, including domains, brand terms, prompts, page links, reports and integration credentials.

“Laws and Regulations” means the currently effective laws, administrative regulations, local regulations, departmental rules, normative documents, and judicial interpretations of the People’s Republic of China.

3. Service Description

The Service provides AI answer tracking (running the prompts you configure against AI engines on a schedule and recording brand mentions, citations and ranking within the answers), GEO content scoring (a citability score per page with prioritised recommendations), competitive share of voice, insight reports and alerts, plus an API and third-party integrations. Features depend on the plan you choose and on what the product pages actually show; we may adjust, add or retire features as technology and the business evolve, and will tell you through page announcements, pop-up prompts or other reasonable means.

Tracking data comes from public answers given by third-party AI engines. The same prompt may return different answers across time, accounts, regions and languages, and engines change their models and retrieval strategies frequently, so tracking data carries inherent variance and uncertainty. We take reasonable measures to protect data quality, but we make no promise about the content, accuracy, availability or continuity of third-party AI engine answers.

Third-party content shown inside AI answers (including cited web pages, trademarks, opinions and other information) is produced or provided by those third parties. Displaying it does not mean we endorse its position, nor that we vouch for its truthfulness, accuracy or legality.

Features that are still in testing or iteration are labelled as such on the relevant pages. Allowances and actual usage follow our system records.

4. Account and Security

You log into the Service via WeChat QR code and must keep your WeChat account and login devices secure. All activities performed after logging into the Service through your WeChat account are deemed your own actions, and you bear the corresponding consequences.

You must ensure that the identity and contact information you provide to us is true, accurate and complete, and update it promptly when it changes. Incomplete, untrue or non-compliant information may prevent you from using parts of the Service.

Your account is personal to you and may not be gifted, lent, rented, transferred, sold or otherwise made available to others in any form. Members inside a workspace are invited and managed by the account holder, who is responsible for what those members do in the Service.

If you detect unusual login activity, unauthorized use or security vulnerabilities in your account, notify us promptly using the contact details stated in these Terms.

As required by laws and regulations and for risk management, we may run security verification on accounts and, where appropriate, restrict functions or suspend accounts that present obvious security risks. If we discover clues of fraud, impersonation or other illegal activity, we may report them to the competent authorities as required.

You may apply to cancel your account through the contact details stated in these Terms. Before cancellation, please make sure that all services, data, entitlements and fees tied to your account are settled. Once cancellation succeeds, the services and data under that account are deleted or anonymized and cannot be recovered, and your personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You undertake not to use the Service to create, upload, copy, publish or distribute any content that: violates the fundamental principles established by the Constitution; endangers national security, divulges state secrets, subverts state power or undermines national unity; harms national honour or interests; distorts, defames, blasphemes or negates the deeds and spirit of heroes and martyrs, or infringes their names, likeness, reputation or honour through insult, defamation or other means; promotes terrorism or extremism or incites terrorist or extremist activities; incites ethnic hatred or discrimination or undermines ethnic unity; undermines national religious policies or promotes cults or feudal superstitions; spreads rumors, disrupts social order or undermines social stability; disseminates obscenity, pornography, gambling, violence, murder, terrorism or incitement to crime; insults or defames others or infringes their reputation, privacy or other lawful rights; contains false or fraudulent information; infringes the lawful rights of minors or harms their physical or mental health; or is otherwise prohibited by laws and regulations.

You must not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to obtain the source code, scoring methodology or underlying algorithms of the Service; circumvent allowances, rate limits or other technical restrictions, or scrape and download our data in bulk beyond what your plan allows; mirror the Service’s pages or reproduce it by technical means; or delete, modify or obscure any copyright notice, trademark notice or other rights statement contained in the Service.

You must not use the Service to compromise cybersecurity, including but not limited to malicious or volumetric attacks on servers, automated registration, spreading viruses or Trojans, interfering with normal operation of the Service, or disrupting network order.

You must ensure that the prompts, page links, integration credentials and content you submit to AI engines are lawful, properly authorized, and do not infringe third-party intellectual property, trade secrets, personal information rights or other lawful rights. You must not use the Service to collect or identify sensitive personal information about specific individuals, to profile people, or to commit other acts that harm personality rights. You understand and acknowledge that AI engine answers are inherently random and uncertain, and that the scores, rankings and recommendations we derive may contain deviations.

If you breach this section, we may delete or block non-compliant data, warn you, restrict features, suspend or terminate the Service, or ban your account depending on severity, and we reserve the right to pursue legal remedies. You bear all legal consequences of your own breach.

6. AI Answer Data and Recommendations

The AI answer text we show you is generated by the respective third-party AI engine. We label the source engine and capture time, and mark the AI-generated portions in our reports so the public can tell what was machine generated.

You must not delete, alter, obscure or otherwise remove the source labels and AI-generated content notices we add. If you edit, restate or combine our reports, screenshots or data with other content before publishing, keep those labels and disclose the still AI-generated parts as applicable law requires. You bear all legal consequences of failing to label or labelling improperly.

The visibility scores, share of voice and recommendations we produce are analytical results derived from algorithmic models and sampled data. They do not represent the position of any AI engine or its operator, and they are not a guarantee of being cited, being recommended, or achieving any particular business result.

7. User Content and Intellectual Property

The rights to content you upload or input into the Service (including domains, brand terms, prompts, page links and integration credentials) belong to you or the original rights holders. To provide the Service — tracking, retrieval, storage, computation, reporting, export and integrations — you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display and transmit that content to the extent necessary. This license exists only to keep the Service running and does not affect your ownership.

The intellectual property in the tracking data, scores, reports and recommendations generated from your configuration (the “Deliverables”) belongs to us or the respective rights holders. For Deliverables you obtain through lawful use of the Service, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable license to use, cite and display them for your own business purposes or those of your clients. That license excludes reselling the Deliverables as a standalone data product, distributing them in bulk, or using them to train other AI models, unless expressly stated otherwise on the purchase page or in your plan benefits.

We may show data you have agreed to make public (such as anonymized visibility trends or de-identified case data) on the butGEO website, on social media, or in promotional material, to explain and promote the Service. We ask for your consent first, and you can withdraw it at any time; we stop displaying within a reasonable period.

You understand and agree that if content you upload or publish involves another person’s likeness, personal information, intellectual property, trade secrets or other lawful rights, you must hold the rights holder’s authorization. If your content triggers third-party complaints, claims or lawsuits, you bear that legal liability yourself and indemnify us for losses we suffer as a result.

The butGEO name, logos, interface design, code, algorithms, scoring methodology, documentation, and the software and models the Service relies on are owned by us or the respective rights holders and protected by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and international treaties. Without written consent, you may not implement, exploit or transfer those rights yourself or permit a third party to do so.

8. Infringement Complaints and Handling

We respect intellectual property and the lawful rights of others. If you believe an AI answer snapshot, cited source or other content shown in the Service infringes your copyright, trademark, portrait rights, reputation or other lawful rights, send us a written notice at red@rainsss.com. Include: (1) your true identity and contact details; (2) proof of ownership; (3) the specific link to or locatable information of the allegedly infringing content; (4) preliminary evidence of infringement; and (5) a statement accepting responsibility for the truthfulness of the notice.

On receiving a compliant notice we promptly remove, block or disable the allegedly infringing content and forward the notice to the relevant User. If that User considers the content non-infringing, they may send us a written statement of non-infringement with supporting evidence; once received, we restore the processed content as the law requires and let you know.

We review the notices and counter-notices we receive and handle them under law and contract. Anyone who maliciously files a false notice and causes loss to others bears full legal liability and compensation. Users who repeatedly infringe or draw repeated infringement complaints may lose access to the Service.

9. Subscriptions and Paid Services

The Service offers a free trial and periodic paid subscriptions. Plans, prices, benefits, allowances, validity and refund rules follow the purchase page, the order snapshot and the Subscription and Payment Terms.

Subscriptions are prepaid monthly or yearly and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can turn off auto-renew or cancel at any time from your account settings; the current period stays usable until it ends.

Allowances measure your scale of use. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred, resold, withdrawn or redeemed for cash. Actual consumption follows our system records.

Purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation, refunds and invoices for subscriptions are governed by the Subscription and Payment Terms. Where those terms conflict with these Terms on payment matters, the Subscription and Payment Terms prevail.

10. Service Changes, Suspension and Termination

We may modify, suspend or terminate part or all of the Service for product iteration, security hardening, legal compliance or operational reasons. Where a change may materially affect core features, we give reasonable advance notice through in-product announcements, page prompts or pop-up notices.

If you seriously breach these Terms, the Privacy Policy or the Subscription and Payment Terms, infringe others’ lawful rights, or endanger the Service, we may take one or more of the following depending on severity: issue a warning; restrict or suspend some or all features; terminate all services to you and ban your account; retain records and report to the competent authorities. You bear the consequences.

You may stop using the Service at any time. To cancel your account, apply through the contact details in these Terms. After expiry or cancellation: (1) you lose access to the account and its services; (2) content, data and records are deleted or anonymized after a reasonable period under the Privacy Policy, except where law requires retention or retention is necessary for service purposes; (3) unused allowances lapse and are not refunded.

If the Service is terminated or we cease operations, we notify you in advance through in-product announcements and help you export your inputs and generated reports within a reasonable period. Once statutory retention periods expire, we delete or anonymize your personal information as the law requires.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service and the Deliverables are provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law we expressly disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; that tracking data and recommendations are accurate, complete, suitable, lawful or non-infringing; and that the Service can meet your specific needs or purposes. You use the Service and Deliverables at your own risk.

AI technology has real limits: engine answers may hallucinate, deviate or contain errors, and results we derive inherit those limits. We make no warranty about the truthfulness, accuracy, completeness, suitability or legality of AI engine answers, and we promise no specific visibility gain, citation count or placement, answer ranking, or commercial outcome. For significant matters involving investment, legal or medical judgement, consult the relevant professionals.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for interruptions, data loss or damage caused by force majeure, telecom carrier failures, third-party anomalies (including WeChat Open Platform, WeChat Pay, Alipay, cloud providers, AI engines and their interfaces, and integration targets), hacker attacks, computer viruses, or issues with your device or network that are beyond our reasonable control. We will make reasonable efforts to coordinate with those parties and limit the impact.

For paying subscribers, except where law requires otherwise or we acted willfully or with gross negligence, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the total fees you actually paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event causing the loss. For free users our aggregate liability is limited to RMB 100; we may adjust that cap for operational reasons and will post the adjusted amount on the Service pages. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, or for lost profits.

12. Protection of Minors

The Service is primarily intended for adults. If you are under 18, you may use it only under the supervision and guidance of a guardian who has given express consent, and only after carefully reading and understanding these Terms.

We do not offer registration or paid services to children under 14. If we find that a child under 14 has used the Service without guardian consent, we delete the relevant personal information promptly.

Minors and their guardians understand and acknowledge that if a minor breaks the law or these Terms, the minor and the guardian bear liability as the law provides.

We recommend that guardians guide minors to use the internet within reasonable limits and avoid addiction to virtual spaces.

13. Changes to the Terms and Notices

We may revise these Terms as laws, regulatory requirements or the product change. Revised terms are posted on the Service pages with the update date and effective date shown.

For changes touching your significant interests — material adjustments to service scope, fee standards or liability limits — we give advance notice through conspicuous means such as in-product announcements or pop-up prompts.

Continuing to use the Service after a revision takes effect means you have read, understood and accepted it. If you disagree, stop using the Service before it takes effect and contact us as stated in these Terms to settle outstanding matters.

The version published on this page is the version in force.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Handling

The formation, conclusion, effectiveness, performance, interpretation and dispute resolution of these Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (for the avoidance of doubt, excluding the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan region, and excluding conflict-of-law rules).

Disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms are resolved through friendly consultation.

Headings exist for reading convenience only. They carry no legal meaning and cannot be used to interpret these Terms. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable in whole or part, the rest remains in force and binding.

These Terms are drawn up in Chinese. This English version is for reference only; in case of conflict, the Chinese version prevails.
